Happy Mondays all. Hope you had a good weekend and the new week has started well for you. We had a great time with our young people at Forest Church yesterday afternoon and the weather was perfect. Massive thanks to David T who coordinated so much of it, but also to Nicky, Mark and Jon and so many others for creating a great atmosphere and fantastic activities as well as food and for giving up their weekends to serve the church. It leads me nicely to talk about our church camp which is coming soon on June 9th to 11th. In order to put this event on we will be raising additional funds over the next three Sundays so please would you consider and pray about what you may be prepared to give financially in order to support this. We will have the usual offering box and electronic device at the back of church to facilitate this. We are hoping to provide an even bigger range of activities this year over a longer period so don’t miss out on both sowing into this ministry but also in taking part! There will be more details on Sunday but please come ready to give. We will also be sharing Communion during the 10:30am service this Sunday as part of our worship.
Also, during yesterday afternoon, Mandy and a team of willing helpers (including Val, Kevin and Peter) began work on reinvigorating the planters around the edge of the church. I am grateful to Mandy for coordinating this and for pursuing a much bigger vision for the church which includes an allotment to be used for youth work in the near future as well as other sustainable community ideas – so watch this space and speak to Mandy if you would be willing to join her in this exciting development.
