Mark’s Monday Message

Mark’s Monday Message

It was an absolute privilege this weekend to attend the ordination of Rachel Clark who was with us as an ordinand for a year in 2022-3. Rachel is now beginning her curacy at St Mary’s church, West Horsley, Guildford.

The weekend before we had our annual church camp and enjoyed great weather and fantastic fellowship, fun and food. We are indebted to the camp team for all that went on before, during and after we arrived on site and particular thanks must go to Charlotte and Jon Ogan and David Tombling. If you would like to be involved in the planning and organisation of future church camps please see either Jon, Brian or myself. We would love to add some new people with fresh ideas and talents to begin thinking about next year!

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Allan Wild will take place next Friday (12th July) at 3pm in church.

This Sunday is our monthly All-Together Service at 10:30am. The theme this month will be ‘The Olympics’, and in particular the Chariots of Fire runner Eric Liddell. We will be looking at the extraordinary story of Eric and his commitment to the gospel. We thought it might be fun for anyone who has a medal to wear it to the service – so come along and show us your sporting achievements!

Finally, please be praying for the election this week. Church will be open for prayer during the day on Thursday but wherever you are, be holding up the future of our town and country up to the Lord:

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (1 Tim 2:1-2).

Enjoy the rest of your week!
