Mark’s May Message

Mark’s May Message

Definitely a camping theme to today’s message.

Many thanks to everyone who has already given towards the church camp on 9th – 11th June which will take place up at the farm (directions to get there will be shared nearer the time). We already have the bouncy castle booked and lots of activities planned so make sure you are free that weekend. There will be another opportunity to give towards camp this Sunday in the offering, so come prepared. Please also remember to book your place (contact Sarah in the church office for details).

Some of our youth will be attending the Chichester diocesan May camp from 26th to 29th May. This is a great opportunity for them to worship with other young people, attend talks and take part in loads of fun activities.

The Big Church Day Out has had a rebrand and is now known as Big Church Festival. And takes place just around the corner at Wiston House on 27th and 28th May. Day and weekend (Fri /Sat) tickets are available. More information can be found on the website: https://www.bigchurchfestival.com/

Some of our congregation are attending the Ichthus Summer camp – a great week of challenging teaching and intimate worship – which takes place at Ashburnham conference centre. You can book directly by going to the Revive website: https://www.revivelive.co.uk/ . Pete Greig will be one of their guest speakers during the week. It takes place between 29th July and 5th August.

Overlapping with this is the New Wine summer conference which this year takes place at the Kent Event Centre, Maidstone between 26th and 30th July (https://www.new-wine.org/events/united23/ ) Glenn Packiam, the lead pastor of Rockharbor church in Costa Mesa, California will be the main speaker and there is also a full children’s and youth program running alongside.

All of these events are only a short drive away and I would encourage you to make the most of them if you can. If you don’t like sleeping under canvas you could always get a day ticket or even a hotel for the night!

Have a great week

Mark
