What a great weekend! So grateful to the camp team of Amy, Charlotte, David, George, Jon, Karen, Liz, Ali and Denise for all they did to ensure we all had such a wonderful time. From booking bouncy castles and loos, arranging dates and payment for the site, taking food orders, fundraising, meal planning and cooking, assembling the electrics and lights, organising teams to put up and set down, driving all the equipment to the site, checking we had all the kit we needed, coordinating worship, music and activities, completing risk assessments and budgeting, communications – they have all contributed hugely and are an amazing, positive and supportive team. There was a great turn out on all three days and we’ve already starting planning a meeting to discuss next year’s camp – so watch this space. Any constructive feedback would be welcome over the next week.
Looking forward, we will have 3 stalls at the village fete on Saturday 1st July and would love to hear from volunteers willing to offer prayer in the prayer tent, promote our eco-church campaign and sustainability projects, coordinate some children’s activities and serve refreshments.
We are also considering planning a ‘sporty’ church service (also sometimes called ‘sweaty church’!) and would like to hear from people willing to host an activity on one Sunday morning – could be anything from walking football to scrabble – doesn’t have to involve perspiration! This would be a one-off initially so you are not committing to running the activity weekly for the next two years!
The next HCT Worship and Prayer evening for the town and villages of Horsham is Sunday 2nd July 2023 from 6pm. This will take place at Kingdom Faith, Foundry Ln, Horsham RH13 5PX and will be a great opportunity to worship together with others from our area. The last event was attended by around 300 people and had a great atmosphere of excitement and anticipation of what God is doing in our town.
Finally, we are planning to have ‘mission’ as our focus throughout August as our children’s leaders take a well-earned rest. The aim will be to have a different mission field as the focus each week, but also create an all-together atmosphere with worship and prayer for all ages at each service.
Enjoy the warm weather!
