For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them
Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
During the COVID-19 lockdown we can’t meet together physically but we can still meet, worship, pray, chat and support each other. It’s Church @ Home and it’s virtual.
Here’s some of what’s going on during lockdown.
Sunday services
Our Sunday morning services are running as a single combined service using the Zoom videoconference service. Check out the church calendar and ‘This Sunday‘ page for details.
We email the congregation each weekend to remind everyone of the details to access the services via Zoom. Everything runs much like it did before – there’s music, prayer, a reading, worship, a sermon, interaction and a chance for everyone to chat at the end of the service.
You can listen to previous services on our Sermons page.
We have a separate video conference for the children and youth, and they can join the main service as usual at the end.
St John’s Podcast
Roger Stamp produces a weekly podcast with a collection of St John’s and community content.

COVID-19
The Church continues to be alive and active, but our buildings must stay closed for now.
We are seeing a huge increase in the number of people falling sick with COVID-19. We must distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives.
Therefore, as well as public worship being suspended, this and all church buildings in the Church of England are now closed.
Our worship of God and our care for each other continue but cannot be done in our buildings.
