South Downs Awakening is a plan for 2020, to gather the churches in prayer, to walk the South Downs way in unity, to issue a call to arms – to see revival in every church and an awakening across the land.
Our heart is to unite the church in prayer, to see the land Awakened to God’s glory. Not only here, but to pass the flame of revival on to others in the United Kingdom and around the world.
Sadly the original plans for this event have had to be put on hold due to you know what, but the organisers would still like to encourage individual church groups, families, etc, to walk and pray along a section of the South Downs Way this summer.
The original plan was to prayer walk as one community of churches over a week in July, but in light of Covid-19, plans have changed.
The South Downs way is a 100 mile route through beautiful countryside, overlooking the land, to the north, and the sea to the south and the rivers that flow through. There are options to walk the whole of the Downs or a section close to you.
