From Rachel: I’ve managed to gather together some musician friends this coming Sunday at 4pm. We’ll be playing through Mendelssohn’s epic Octet. (4 violins, 2 violas and 2 cellos)
It will be very informal (unrehearsed, and more or less unpractised, but bags of fun) and anyone is welcome to come along and listen, even just for a few minutes.
The piece is about 40 mins long, in 4 distinct sections, so plenty of opportunities to slip in or out.
If you have any friends or neighbours you think might be interested, they’re welcome too….
I’m hoping to organise more of these events on Sunday afternoons in the autumn, so if you like the sound of this, but can’t make it this time…..’watch this space’!
I’m planning to make cake for the musicians and listeners to share afterwards, so perhaps let me know if you plan to come.
