Hopefully you will know by now that we have different plans this year for Camp weekend which is 21st to 22nd June. The plan is to go to Goring Beach for the Saturday (somewhere along the stretch of beach adjacent to Marine Drive (BN12 4QN) in between Sea Lane Cafe and The Bluebird Café. There’s a stretch of grass behind to play on as well. Bring your own food, something to sit on and any activities that we could do together in small or large groups. There’s no set timings, arrive when you can and look for others and hopefully we’ll all manage to gather together. Car share if you can and anyone willing to offer lifts please let me know by next Sunday.
The following day (22nd) we will have a shared lunch in the church hall after the service and then in the afternoon there is an HCT picnic in Horsham park (from 4pm) followed by a combined worship service in the Human Nature Garden at 5pm. Please could you let the church office know (office@stjohnsbbh.org.uk) if you would be willing to be part of a team to put out the food at the end of the service or a separate team to clear up at the end. It would be helpful if everyone brought something to share to the kitchen door before the service starts in order to organise and prepare it.
I’m also very excited that we are to partner with Spurgeons alongside St Mark’s and Kingdom Faith church to set up a Family Hub in Horsham. The plan is to begin with a Parenting Course which is offered to all of the local community but long term could include mental health support, and other practical resources, as well as helping families navigate other services in the wider community so they can get specialist help if needed. The Family Hub will create a safe space where families can seek help, build relationships, and grow in their faith. Please let me know if you would be willing to be part of the initial team to set this up and receive the free training that we have been offered.
