Mark’s Monday Message

Mark’s Monday Message

I hope you had a good weekend. At church we looked at the theme of hospitality and God’s peace and how we must choose to receive the peace that Jesus offers us in order for us to be effective in service.

And there are a number of ways that you can contribute to the life of St John’s in service and outreach to the surrounding village in the coming months.

  • May Camp takes place from 27th-30th May and our young people would love you to provide cakes for them. Lee Buck will be collecting your offerings on the afternoon of Thursday 26th May from the church hall so please could you deliver them to the hall kitchen by then. Any cake tins or containers will be returned if you label them. We may also require people to prepare meals for the youngsters while they are on camp which can be reheated on site. Please contact Lee directly (youth@horshampcc.org.uk) if you would be willing to do this.
  • On Sunday 5th June, in the afternoon, the village will be holding a Jubilee picnic and as a church we would like to set up a stall with a royal theme. We will need help to create and decorate the throne and mirror, write out scriptures, help with the decoration of crowns, provide dressing up clothing and to generally host the stall.
  • The annual BBH village fete is on Saturday 2nd July and we will be hosting 2 stalls – a refreshments stall and a prayer tent. We will need a small gazebo/event shelter, people to help set up both stalls, people to create a ‘prayer tent’ sign, people to serve drinks and people willing to pray and chat to folk.

We will be sending out the 40 next weekend! – as our ladies have their fellowship weekend. We pray that they will have a powerful encounter with God as well as growing in love and friendship with one another. Coral Francis, who will be leading the weekend will also be speaking at church on Sunday morning.

And just so the men don’t feel like they are missing out, there will be a men’s breakfast at the Smith & Western on East Street at 10am on Saturday morning (after parkrun for those who wish to work up an appetite!) Please let me know if you wish to attend so we can book a table.

Have a great week operating out of the peace of God!

Mark
