Mark’s Monday Message

Mark’s Monday Message

Afternoon all

First, I want to thank Bob and Annie and their connect group for the stunning Easter cross display in church. What an amazing sight! It has now been enjoyed by guests at two weddings as well as being the centrepiece to our Easter celebrations and we plan to keep it up for the summer term.

There are a number of opportunities to serve the local community coming up. Firstly, we plan to have a stall at the upcoming village Jubilee celebrations on Sunday June 5th. If you would like to help create the stall or be present on the day – let us know.

Secondly, on Saturday 2nd July we will be hosting two stalls at the BBH village fete – a refreshment stall serving teas and coffees and a prayer tent. Again – let us know how you would like to help in either of these. We also need to pay for these stalls so any donations towards these would be appreciated.

Our APCM is coming up on May 8th during our normal 10:30 service. We will gather for half an hour of worship and word before holding the meeting which will last approximately 40 minutes. There will be an offering during the service where we give thanks for all that God has done for us during the past year and look towards planning for the future year, so please prayerfully consider if you might like to give beyond your usual tithe during that service.

We would also like to have a bring and share lunch after this in the hall, from 12pm so please also come prepared with some food to share with others and also perhaps to offer to either setup or wash up afterwards.

Finally, this Thursday sees the start of a new bible study for young people. It will be aimed at secondary aged children and will take place in the church hall from 5:30pm. It will be led by myself and we will be following the Bible Society’s ‘Bible Course’ – an 8 week look at the big picture of the whole bible. Please encourage your young adults to come along with their friends to hear the good news presented through video and discussion.

Have a great week and see you at the all-age service this Sunday
