Mark’s Monday Message

Mark’s Monday Message

Much to look forward to this week, including our Good Friday service in church at 9am which will be followed by hot cross buns and refreshments in the hall. Later in the morning we will gather with the rest of the Horsham Churches at the Carfax bandstand to take part in a joint service at 11:15am. Finally, we will have our 2 usual services on Easter Sunday at 8:30am and 10:30am. We will share communion at both.

I want to take this chance to thanks all of those who have hosted the various connect groups over Lent – still a few opportunities to take part this week. The stories (and photos) coming out from these groups have been encouraging and it has been great to see new friendships made. Look out for ‘Connect Groups Part Deux’ in the summer.

Our theme for the Summer term (after Easter) will be ‘Hearing God’ and we will be looking at how God speaks to us in many different ways (through scripture, nature, others etc.) A few books that have inspired me recently are Dallas Willard (Hearing God), Pete Greig (How to Hear God), Bill Cahusac (That Gentle Whisper) and John Mark Comer (The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry).

Our APCM will take place on 8th May during the 10:30am service. There are a number of posts available should you wish to serve the church at this time. Please speak to either Sarah or myself if you would like to be part of the PCC or if you might see yourself as a future church warden or be part of a new look welcome team. We would also love to continue to develop our youth and children’s work and as part of this would welcome those willing to serve this team through administrating and coordinating resources, rotas and registers. We have a very diligent and creative set of leaders for all age groups and would love to further enable them to continue in this by supporting them with some administrative help. If this is you – please get in touch. Finally: Big Church Day Out is happening again at Wiston House on June 3rd and 4th. Day and weekend (Fri /Sat) tickets are available. More information can be found on the BCDO website. Let us know if you plan to come along and on which day.
