As I began to lay out in church last week I believe that God is calling us to focus intently this year on how we connect, both to God and to one another and so connecting will be a recurring theme throughout the year. We have already chosen the passage from John 15 of the image of the vine for our Camp theme and we hope to be introducing many opportunities during the year to connect with one another hopefully in new ways.
My challenge to you over the coming weeks is to consider what you might do to connect with others, specifically over the period of Lent. I would like to challenge every person to do something once a week during the 40 days. It may be meeting with others socially on a weekly basis, it may be to pray, or to study or to simply relax together but I particularly want us to focus on new connections and on encouraging those whom we may not know so well. Don’t put limits on your ideas … I look forward to hearing them.
