Pastoral Support

Pastoral Support

We have a dedicated Pastoral Team who have different gifts and abilities enabling us to offer support in a variety of ways. They are trained to help those in need, providing a listening ear in situations where life changes occur.

Life is marked by events that sometimes change everything for us and for those close to us. The most common of these: birth, marriage and death are intensely spiritual times. Somehow in the mix of trauma and joy of the birth of a baby, falling in love, or the strain and sadness of death we seem to draw very close to something much bigger than ourselves; some-One whose presence we sense more. It is because these times are so significant that we mark them in our community with celebration or sadness – and sometimes with both. It is good too, to prepare for them carefully, taking time to see where God is, hear His voice and sense His hand as we go through them. We also recognize that physical and mental illness and relational breakdowns are huge life-changing events for the persons concerned and their families.

Our aim is to ensure that those who are struggling, for any reason, can receive support and practical help. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have a need, or know of others in need.

Those who do pastoral work are supported by three people, Audrey, Hazel and Vivien, who connect with them regularly and provide a link  to the Vicar and Curate as appropriate.
