Baptism
Baptism (also called Christening) signifies a person's
entry into God's worldwide family and into the
Christian faith.
Baptisms take place in our 10.30am service usually, but
not always, on the first Sunday of the month when we
have a family service. This service is shorter than our
other services and since it is child-friendly, is more
suitable for any children who may attend as your guests
for the baptism.
If you would like to arrange a baptism, then the first
step is to call the Vicar on 01403 265238. Ewen will
arrange for a member of St. John's to come and visit
you in your home and bring information about the
baptism service. Following this visit, Ewen will
arrange to meet you to talk about the baptism service
and its implications. It is a good idea to come to a
family service before your own child's baptism so you
have an idea of what the service is like. Ewen will
speak to you about this when you meet.
People can be baptised at any age - adults included -
so don't let age be a barrier.
